Sophia's Two Month Visit

I do apologize that it has been a long time since I blogged about Sophia. I'm actually working on a brand new site where we all will be able to blog about her. It will be live soon.

Anyway, yesterday was Sophia's two month doctor's visit. She's now 11 pounds 1/2 ounce, 22.5" long, and really, really healthy. Perfect as far as the doctor is concerned. She had five vaccines yesterday though. That kinda rough for her (and Mom). One oral, and then one needle in each arm and leg. She did okay, but did cry hard for a few minutes, and was cranky for a bit. Other than that, she's good. She's sleeping a solid fours at a shot now at night. The Doctor said she'll be sleeping all night within a month, and soon she'll start rolling over and holding things. Things should get exciting.

I've had many requests for pictures, and some will be up soon. With the new site, you'll be able to post your own pictures of Sophia and share them with the world.

More to come.

Sophia Update

I know that it seems like forever since my last post, it it as. Today was Sophia's one month doctor visit. Sheesh! One month! Anyway, here are the latest stats"

Weight 8 lbs 13 ounce
Length (height) 21.75 inches
Head Circumference 14.5 inches

What this means is:

She has average weight for her age, 50th percentile of National average. She gained 1 lb 9 ounces in two weeks.

She is tall for her age, 90th percentile. Looks like she'll be tall and in shape.

She has a larger head for her age, 75th percentile. She's gonna be very smart.

Seriously, the bottom line is that she has perfect health. That's all that matters.

Other than that, she's been great. Still very quit and observant. There's also a few more pictures in the flickr photo album.

More updates to come.

Sophia Meets Her Dad, The Movie

Here is when I first formally met Sophia. What struck me so deeply about this experience was how she held my finger. About 1:30 in, the nurse rolls her away from me and when Sophia rolls back, she actually reaches out with an open hand, to grab my finger. To this day, she finds comfort in simply holding my finger.

Welcome Sophia!

Here she is!

Yes, Sophia is here! Born January, 17 2007 at 4:57pm. Officially she is 7 pounds

3.7 ounces and 21 inches long. And, of course, she's the cutest of all babies! We were all amazed by how quite and content she is. When she first appeared, she didn't cry at all. She just sat there and watch everyone doing there thing. The staff had to really make her cry so Pamela could hear her. Even now, she is a very quit and observant person.
We gratitude goes out to everyone that has helped us along the way. You have truly made a huge impact in our, and most importantly, Sophia's life.
Don't worry, more pictures to come. I need to run back to hospital to change some more diapers.

Latest Ultrasound

Today, we had the final ultrasound. Above are two 3D pictures of Sophia's face. She was asleep, as you can see, therefore she wasn't to cooperative. The distortion is caused by .....
.... YIKES! Pamela's water just broke. We're off!

She's in position!

Today marks 37.5 weeks for Sophia and she's in position, ready to come out. We just returned from our latest Doctor's appointment and Sophia has dropped and turned correctly. The Doctor has even asked Pamela to start having contractions. Having said that, we have the final ultrasound scheduled for next Thursday. That will give us all an idea of how big Sophia will be at birth as well as the amount of amniotic fluid surrounding her. Pamela has also put on an astounding 33 1/2 pounds. I guess I shouldn't have laughed when the Doctor said that she would gain about 30 pounds.
